01 Aug Doughnut Touch My Doughnut!
I’m a little pissed about this place! If you know me, you know how furious I get when I discover things AFTER I have already left city living! This place has been around the corner from my old apartment for so long and I had NO idea! Between tacos and doughnuts… The love is TOO real.
Sublime Doughnuts is a popular late night joint that brings in people by the boatload! Kamal Grant, founder, was truly touched by the doughnut gods when he created this brand. I mean from the Nestle Crunch, White Chocolate Peach Fritter, Oreo, and Cheese Dan-ish doughnuts to the Cinnamon Toast Crunch ice cream burger… God KNEW weight loss and self-control would not be factors in my life or the lives of the many fans that visit this restaurant daily!
My husband and I decided to stop by after our date to True Food Kitchen… Yes, we ate healthy JUST to splurge on these sweet treats. We visited the location right near Georgia Tech. As soon as we arrived, I knew I was at home with my food spirit! Well, Kamal did a bag up job making Sublime feel like home. You walk in and there are soft, living room style arm chairs, rugs, and low lighting. My inner self just knew that we wouldn’t be tasting ONE doughnut! And my husband’s inner self agreed because he ended up ordering ice cream AND a doughnut! I kept it “classy” and simple and ordered the Cheese Dan-ish doughnut. My husband ordered some Cinnamon Toast ice cream with a doughnut on the side. Honey that damn ice cream had me ALL the way happy! I mean I judged him for being fat and getting ice cream AND a doughnut but when I tasted that ice cream, I literally lost my mind! It was like my taste buds went on an adventure and I just saw myself in the Cinnamon Toast Crunch commercial diving off of the spoon into a milk filled bowl of cereal.
My experience here was pretty sweet (HA! The IRONY!). The staff was pretty friendly and they were efficient! My husband and I got super lucky because we got there when the first rush was leaving and made it before the next rush rolled in. The place was super packed in the blink of an eye. I found myself so annoyed because I hadn’t even had the opportunity to visit when I lived in Atlanta. But hey, I know better now and so do you!
Visit Sublime Doughnuts near Georgia Tech or in Decatur! It’s such an awesome place to grab America’s favorite treat. Try something creative and post it on Instagram! I’d love to see what you ordered (this means you have to tag me in it… EPV Instagram).
